This substrate produces a blue, insoluble reaction product and is recommended for use in immunohistochemical applications. Although the reaction product is soluble in xylene, sections can be cleared with citrus-oil based clearing agents, then permanently mounted in toluene based mounting media. This substrate also provides an ideal second label for multiple label protocols.
